Farm School, Ecomuseum and Outdoor School


The Farm School  is simply the farm that turns into an 'outdoor classroom where children take an active experience of country life, animals and the origin of the products they consume, and reveals the secrets of' being a true farmer, the seriousness of this rich profession that is handed down from father to son every day, simply by addressing what nature offers.
One purpose is to instill in children respect for their work on the land and those who inhabit it.
 We offer a guided tour in company with the presentation of one or more productions, or ecological issues. The visit is usually followed by a discussion, with some simple practical exercises useful to involve children actively in the learning process


  •  horticulture: how to make an organic garden.
      •  the henhouse, the sheepfold, pigsty and cows.
      •  small bakers baking lab.
      •  the stream and the water cycle;
      •  the wood fire to heat:   the cycle of wood.
     •   the stone:  the stone walls


At the end of the day at the farm will be issued to all participants in the title of "honorary farmer." All activities are designed and manufactured with the collaboration of experts in agriculture and education.
     The visit, in addition to organized activities, including the break lunch and tea.

The Ecomuseum  The Ecomuseum is a working appreciation of the glorious nature surrounding us. We trace paths and ancient mule tracks linking our farm, crossing the small river Faena and arriving at the medieval village of Rotecastello.
Our work involves the cleaning of paths, highlighting the panoramic views as well as the fauna and flora this area boasts  - you will find a wide range of wild orchids, mushrooms,  truffles, wild strawberries and cyclamen flowers.
We also aim to promote the traditional and sensitive care of Umbrian farmers who still practice  traditions respected and used over centuries, for example when pruning olive trees, and admire the beauty of the crops in the fields.
Then we arrive at the beautiful Medieval village of Rotecastello. A hidden gem built with love and harmony, artistically using stone for the walls, mills and a church of 1100.


OUTDOOR School   Children and teachers from schools and colleges in north Italy come to our outdoor school for one week to put their studies into practice and experience farm and community life.

November - Harvesting olives and cold pressed in the mill.
During Winter - the warmth of the great hearth, grind together the wheat for Farino and after collecting the eggs in the hen house, all with their hands in the dough for bread, pizza, cakes and biscuits.
